1990 Ford Mustang LX “7-UP Edition” Convertible – Rare Fox Body Fun!
1990 Ford Mustang LX “7-UP Edition” Convertible – Rare Fox Body Fun!
Here's a great opportunity to own a piece of Mustang and marketing history! Originally conceived as a promotional giveaway for the 1990 NCAA basketball tournament in partnership with the 7-Up soft drink brand, Ford ultimately released 4,103 of these special-edition convertibles to the public — and they've been desirable ever since.
All “7-Up” Mustangs were based on the LX 5.0 platform and finished in striking Deep Emerald Green Metallic with a White leather interior and matching White power convertible top. Under the hood lives the legendary 5.0L V8 mated to an automatic transmission — an iconic pairing from the peak of the Fox Body era.
This example has served as a fun warm-weather driver for both the current and prior owners, used primarily during the spring and summer months of our short driving season. The odometer shows 121,331 miles, which is low for the year, though above average for a collector car. Still, it offers the perfect balance for someone looking to own a rare model and enjoy driving it, not just displaying it.
Cosmetically, it's not show-quality, but it presents well and is an excellent candidate for light restoration or just regular cruising as-is. Power features include a power convertible top and power driver's seat. The seller is unaware of any major mechanical concerns and welcomes a pre-purchase inspection by your mechanic of choice.
Whether you're a Fox Body fan, a Mustang collector, or someone just looking for a rare and enjoyable convertible for weekend drives, this 7-UP Edition Mustang is a unique and affordable way to enjoy vintage V8 fun with a cool backstory.
